Jointing Materials

Jointing materials, also referred to as gasket sheet materials, form the foundation of most cut gasket manufacturing. WR Gaskets stocks an extensive range of compressed fibre jointing, reinforced graphite sheets, PTFE sheets, and specialty grades from manufacturers including Klinger, Garlock, Novus Sealing, W.L. Gore, and Victor Reinz.

Compressed fibre jointing remains one of the most widely used gasket materials in industry. Modern non-asbestos fibre (NAF) sheets are manufactured from aramid, glass, carbon, or mineral fibres bonded with synthetic rubber binders. The resulting material offers excellent sealing performance across a broad range of temperatures, pressures, and media. We stock general-purpose grades as well as specialist formulations for steam, oil, chemical, and potable water service.

For higher-temperature and more demanding applications, we stock reinforced graphite sheets that can operate at temperatures up to 550°C in oxidising atmospheres and even higher in inert or reducing conditions. Our PTFE sheet range includes virgin PTFE, filled PTFE, and expanded PTFE (ePTFE) for applications requiring the ultimate in chemical resistance.
